“Singing for Lung Health” is a singing method developed over the past 20 years in the UK by the Royal Brompton Hospital and British Lung Association and many others to aid people with chronic lung diseases by helping them to manage breathlessness, feel more in control of breathing, improve quality of life, strengthen the breathing muscles, and to increase the strength of the voice. As far as we know, this is the first time in Arizona that a class like this has been offered!
• Absolutely ZERO singing experience or ability is required.
• This is NOT A CHOIR.
• Coughs, oxygen tanks, oxygen concentrators, walkers, hearing aids – they are all welcome to come with you.
While this practice is specifically designed for those with chronic lung conditions, as we age our lung capacity reduces, and these methods are universally beneficial. Plus, Singing for Lung Health is FUN! (And how often are all of these interventions designed to improve our health actually enjoyable?)
